Granular Materials Workshop

The 2nd New England/New York area Granular Materials workshop will
be held at Yale University on June 3, 2004. The talks will take place in
Davies Auditorium in the basement of Becton Laboratory with food and
refreshments served in the adjacent Becton Faculty Lounge. The workshop
will include four 30-minute invited talks, approximately six 15-minute
contributed talks, and poster sessions. The workshop will begin with
breakfast from 9:15-10AM (with the first talk starting at 10AM) and end around
4:30PM. This year's Workshop follows the successful 1st Granular Materials
Workshop held last year at Clark University organized by Arshad Kudrolli (Clark
Univ.), Narayanan Menon
(UMass-Amherst), and Mark Shattuck
(CCNY).

We invite you to submit titles and abstracts for the 15-minute contributed talks and poster sessions. Contributed talks that complement the invited talks will receive first priority. The remaining submissions will be presented during the poster sessions. Titles and abstracts can be submitted online by following the link below. Decisions concerning contributed talks will be made approximately one week before the workshop. A list of participants and titles and abstracts of invited talks and contributed talks and posters can be viewed by following this link.
All participants must register before May 28, 2004 so that we can
accurately estimate food orders. To register, follow the link below. The
registration fee for the Workshop is $15, which covers breakfast, refreshment
breaks, and lunch. Participants traveling by car can park in Pierson-Sage
garage for $5. A parking pass must be downloaded (by following the link
below) and displayed on the car dashboard. Directions to Pierson-Sage
garage and Davies auditorium are also provided below. Both the
registration and parking fees can be paid upon arrival to the Workshop; checks
made payable to Yale University are preferred.
