Title: Packing of cubes on a plane

Abstract:

Considering that many studies about packing spheres are already done and there are only few using cubes, we started in a simply way, observing the packing of cubes in two dimensions. Initial questions look for answers about the minimum and maximum packing density, and orientation patterns. We will discuss the differences between the packing density after random packing of cubes by hand in a flat surface and by random packing of squares simulation in a 2D grid.
