I am a doctoral student at Levich Institute, City College of New York and working towards my PhD in Chemical Engineering. I am currently investigating in the field of granular materials under the guidance of my mentor Prof. Mark Shattuck.

Granular materials play an important role in many industries-- from pharmaceutical to metallurgical to ceramic -- and are quickly becoming a topic of active research for chemical engineers. I am involved in experimentally studying dynamics and structure of vibrated granular media using strong vibrational forcing and high speed imaging techniques. The class of novel experimental granular systems we have been studying can yield important fundamental understanding, which is crucial in any processing, handling and transport of granular materials.
